Effective date: August 31, 2026
These terms cover the Heart&Soul iPhone app. They do not cover other Heart&Soul Press websites, publications, shops or business activities.
Heart&Soul is operated by Lisa Reiley under the Heart&Soul Press brand, from Austin, Texas, United States.
Heart&Soul offers meditation, affirmations, breathwork, sleep content and journaling. It is a wellness app, not healthcare. What you write and record is yours; the content we supply is ours. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and Apple processes the money. If something goes wrong, our responsibility is real but limited — and nothing here takes away rights your local law gives you.
Heart&Soul provides guided meditations, affirmations, breathing practices, sleep sessions and stories, ambient sound, journaling and progress tracking, together with tools for recording affirmations in your own voice.
By using the app, you agree to these terms.
Heart&Soul is distributed through the App Store, so Apple's terms apply alongside ours.
- These Terms supplement Apple's Standard End User License Agreement and any other applicable App Store terms. They do not replace them. Where they conflict on the licence to use the app itself, Apple's agreement governs.
- Apple is not responsible for providing support for Heart&Soul, except as Apple's own terms may require.
- Apple is not a party to these Terms.
This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is stated plainly.
Heart&Soul is a wellness and spiritual practice tool. It is not:
- medical care, or a medical device
- therapy, counselling, or psychological treatment
- diagnosis of any condition
- professional advice of any kind
- an emergency or crisis service
- a guarantee of any health, emotional, spiritual or personal outcome
Nothing in the app is a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you have a health concern, or are considering changing any treatment, please speak to a doctor or another qualified professional. Use your own judgement about whether a practice suits you, and stop if something feels wrong.
In an emergency, or if you are in crisis: please contact your local emergency services. In the United States you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Heart&Soul cannot see that you are in difficulty and cannot respond. Please reach a person who can.
Your journal entries, voice recordings, custom affirmations and everything else you create remain your property. We acquire no ownership of them.
You authorise the app to read, display, play, transcribe, export and restore that content on your device, when you ask it to — that is simply the app doing what you have asked, on your own copy. The one case where your content leaves your device automatically is speech recognition, where Apple may process recording audio to produce a transcript, as described in our Privacy Policy. Nothing in this paragraph gives us ownership of your content or any right to it beyond operating the features you use.
The app does not send your content to us. We cannot read, moderate, recover or restore it. That is a deliberate design choice, and it has a cost: if your device is lost, damaged or reset and you have no backup, that content is gone, and we cannot bring it back. The app's export feature exists so you can keep a copy yourself.
If you choose to send us something — for example a screenshot or a file attached to a support email — we will of course receive it. That is your decision, not something the app does, and our Privacy Policy explains what happens to it.
You are responsible for what you record and write, and for keeping any exported backup file private.
The app itself, the Heart&Soul and Heart&Soul Press names and branding, the interface and design, and the meditations, affirmations, sleep content, written material, narration, music, ambient audio and artwork we supply are owned by or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws.
Your subscription gives you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use that content inside the app. It does not let you copy, extract, redistribute, publish, sell, or use it to create other works, or use it commercially, without our written permission.
Heart&Soul offers optional monthly and yearly subscriptions that unlock the full library.
Price: The price shown in the App Store at the time of purchase is the authoritative one, in your local currency. Any price mentioned elsewhere is indicative only.
Payment: Your App Store purchase and payment are processed by Apple, and charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
Automatic renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Apple charges the renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
Cancelling: You can cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or through the Manage Subscription link in the app. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Free trials: If a free trial is offered, any unused part is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Restore Purchases: If you reinstall the app or move to a new iPhone, use Restore Purchases to recover access. This restores your *subscription*, not your journal, recordings or progress — those come from a backup you exported, or not at all.
Refunds: Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases. Where your local law gives you a right to cancel or a refund, that right stands regardless of this paragraph.
If your subscription ends: Your journal entries, recordings, custom affirmations, favourites and progress stay on your device. They are yours and they are not affected. What changes is that the Premium content we supply — the full meditation, sleep and breathwork library — locks again until you resubscribe. Nothing you created is deleted, hidden or held hostage.
You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live. If you are under 18, you may use Heart&Soul only with the agreement of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.
Heart&Soul is not specifically directed to children. Parents and guardians should supervise a child's use, particularly of the microphone and speech-recognition features.
Please do not:
- copy, extract, redistribute or resell the content we supply
- reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except where law expressly permits it
- try to bypass subscription controls or access paid content without paying
- use the app in any unlawful way, or in a way that interferes with others' use of it
We aim to keep Heart&Soul working well, but we cannot promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. The app depends on your device, your operating system version, and services operated by Apple.
We may update the app, add or remove content, and change how features work. Where a change materially reduces what a paid subscription provides, we will do our best to give notice, and your cancellation and refund rights are unaffected.
We may update these terms. The revised version will be published here with a new effective date.
We provide Heart&Soul with care, but as is. To the extent the law allows, we do not give warranties that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, or that any practice will produce a particular result.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data that we never held.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, and the courts of Texas will have jurisdiction, except as set out in the next paragraph.
If you live somewhere whose law gives you mandatory consumer rights, those rights are preserved. Nothing in these terms removes or reduces protections you have under the law of your country or region, including the right to bring proceedings in your local courts where that law provides it. Where a clause here conflicts with a mandatory protection you have, that protection wins.
Heart&Soul is available worldwide, including in the European Union. It is your responsibility to comply with any local laws that apply to you.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable in your jurisdiction, that part applies to the fullest extent permitted, or is severed if it cannot. The rest of the terms continue in force. This matters because consumer-protection law varies by country, and a clause that cannot stand where you live should not bring down the whole agreement.
